ABOUT THE PIASA FLYERS

Welcome

The Piasa Flyers Club

In March 2023, flight instructors Don Hill and John Harding, who have a total of 105 years of flying experience, started a new Flying Club at St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto. Don Hill has been a pilot for 60 years, and John Harding for 45 years. They created a nonprofit club called Piasa Flyers, Inc., with the goal of making aviation more affordable and accessible. Most flying clubs usually have about 50 members and three planes, so Piasa Flyers is a new and exciting addition to the aviation community.

The club follows the advice of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). It’s open to people from different backgrounds and skill levels, including active pilots, rusty pilots, students learning to fly, and those who have never flown before but want to learn. The club understands that owning an aircraft can be expensive, so they try to keep costs low to help members who are working towards getting their private pilot’s license. Piasa Flyers is all about building connections and sharing a love for aviation, making it a great opportunity for both new and experienced pilots.
